On February 23, join Ukraine House in Denmark and Danish artist Jakob Fälling in unveiling a commemorative lightwork that projects 1,460 candles — one for every night Ukraine has endured since the Russian full-scale invasion in 2022. As attention fades but the suffering continues, we gather in central Copenhagen for an act of remembrance and solidarity, transforming 300 square meters of façade at Eigtveds Pakhus near Ukraine House into a quiet, powerful commemoration.
Hand-drawn and projected across the historic warehouse wall, the 1,460 candles form a poetic message: We will not forget Ukraine.
“As individuals, there is very little we can do. But from traveling in Ukraine, I know that it makes a difference if the Ukrainians do not feel forgotten by the rest of Europe. That is the simple thing we can attain with this event”, says Jakob Fälling.
The presentation of a new large-scale candle installation created for this night will be followed by a short talk with the artist. The visitors are also welcome to attend the opening of the new exhibition "Voices of Dignity: Literature of Resistance" at Ukraine House at 18:00.

23 лютого Український дім у Данії та данський художник Якоб Феллінг запрошують вас на відкриття пам’ятної світлової інсталяції, що проєктує 1 460 свічок — по одній за кожну ніч, яку Україна пережила від початку повномасштабного російського вторгнення у 2022 році. Коли увага світу до України слабшає, а страждання тривають, ми зберемося в центрі Копенгагена, щоби разом вшанувати пам’ять і перетворити 300 квадратних метрів фасаду Eigtveds Pakhus поруч з Українським домом на тихий, але сильний знак пам’яті.
“Як окремі люди, ми можемо зробити небагато. Але з подорожей Україною я знаю, що дуже важливо, щоб українці не почувалися забутими Європою. Саме цього простого, але важливого жесту ми прагнемо досягти цією подією”, — говорить Якоб Феллінг.
Після презентації нової масштабної інсталяції відбудеться коротка розмова з художником. А перед цим запрошуємо також відвідати відкриття нашої нової виставки "Голоси Гідності: література опору" о 18:00.
