Planeswalkers, queers, and Magic fans, gather ‘round because a new night is coming to Den Anden Side! Mark your calendars for the inaugural Queers: The Gathering on August 20.
Queers: The Gathering brings you an evening of Magic: The Gathering with the purpose of creating a space for people in the queer community. Everyone is welcome to join, but we have a special focus on making it a safer space for commonly minoritised players such as trans-, queer, and femme persons.
Whether you’re a seasoned player who owns too many decks to count or you’ve always been interested in giving it a go but haven’t taken the leap yet, all are welcome. We have room and patience for both beginners and experienced players, with multiple tables for every skill level, led by experienced players who will be there to guide and help along the way.
We’ll be hosting a special introductory info session right before the games start for new players, so you’ll be tapping lands and casting spells in no time! We’ll also have a few extra decks available for those who want to play but don’t own any decks themselves.
Den Anden Side will keep their bar open with snacks, drinks, and toasts throughout the evening.
PRICE: 80 DKK (includes a beer or soda)
TICKETS: TBA
AGE LIMIT: 18+ (Since the event offers alcohol, you will need to be 18+ to be able to attend.)
Open Call for Facilitators!
We are planning to run most tables in EDH/Commander format, since this is a more cooperative and social play style for new players (and because this is the format the event hosts, Dani and Denise, plays), but we are open to also have tables with other formats if you want to facilitate this. Both lower and higher Power Levels are welcome, but we highly encourage to focus on inclusivity, learning, and fun throughout the games rather than competitive play.
If you would like to join the session as a facilitator of a table, write to

CODE OF CONDUCT
Please be aware of the space you are taking up and how your presence will influence the other players. Keep in mind that not all players enjoy the same way of engaging in games, and show respect for each other's needs to have a good gaming experience. In the end, we’re here to have fun =)
Both in-game and outside of the games, we do not tolerate any form of discriminatory language or actions of any kind, and we do not assume gender or pronouns.
