Zacho har været på den danske musikscene i mange år og optræder i grupper som Jazz Five, The Counterfictionals, Jack Street og diverse Big Bands.
På sit debutalbum "Introducing Jeppe Zacho," (April Records januar 2024) har den erfarne musiker og komponist for første gang samlet sin drømmekvintet for at dykke ned i sine egne kompositioner. Zachos 2. single “El Bravado" har kunnet høres i rotation på P8 Jazz siden november 2023.
Pladen beskrives i liner-noterne som "modern jazz in the old fashioned way", og pladen har en tone, der er fremadskuende og frisk, samtidig med at den bevarer den rå energi og live-spænding fra alle de tidløse jazzplader, som jazzfans er vokset op med.
I sine kompositioner fremviser Zacho de forskellige facetter, der udgør hans musikalske og personlige identitet: et stykke dedikeret til en mentor, en ode til hans elskede, en komposition, der afspejler hans kærlighed til Cuba og dets rige musikkultur, samt en inspiration af en klassisk Soul/Funk-sang fra 1970 udgør kvintettens varierede repertoire. Jeppe indspiller til september sit andet album og præsenterer allerede adskillige nye kompositioner.

Zacho has been on the Danish music scene for many years and performs in groups such as Jazz Five, The Counterfictionals, Jack Street, and various Big Bands.
On his debut album “Introducing Jeppe Zacho,” (April Records January 2024) the experienced musician and composer has assembled his dream quintet for the first time to delve into his own compositions. The tune “El Bravado" went straight into rotation at the danish radio P8 Jazz, where it still can be heard.
Described in the liner notes as “modern jazz in the old fashioned way”, the record has a tone that is forward-thinking and fresh while retaining the raw energy and live excitement of all the timeless jazz records that jazz fans grew up with.
Through his writing, Zacho showcases the different facets that make up his musical and personal identity: a piece dedicated to a formative teacher, an ode to his beloved, a composition that reflects his love for Cuba and its rich musical culture, and a tribute to a classic Soul/Funk song from 1970 makes up the quintet’s varied repertoire. Jeppe will record his second album in September and is already presenting several new compositions.
