🖤 What is roller derby?
It's a full-contact sport played on quad roller skates. On our fundamentals course you will learn all the skills needed for playing the sport: various stops, how to fall safely, backwards skating, jumps, and how to hit and block! Basically everything you need for this amazing sport. If you can already skate, don’t worry, we will challenge you at your current level.
🤎 Who can play roller derby?
Everyone can learn how to play roller derby, regardless of current level of skating skills or general fitness. In Copenhagen Roller Derby we celebrate and support all our members, and we center women, girls, & gender minorities. This includes trans, non-binary, gender fluid, gender expansive and LGBTQIA+ people. We encourage everyone who identifies with the above to join.

💜 What to bring?
Quad Roller Skates, comfortable sports clothes and a water bottle. You must wear knee pads and elbow pads, wristguards and a helmet.
💙 Where to get gear?
We have some loan gear and skates you can borrow if you don't have skates yourself, write us an email to check if we have something in your size. Or ask your network if they have something you can borrow. You can read more about what gear to get here:

💚 Is there another way to be involved, if I don’t want to play the game?
YES! You can be a skating or non-skating official. Our officials facilitate the game by calling penalties, timing the game, managing points and lots of other essential and very cool tasks. You can also help the teams as part of a bench crew. Come to our intro event as well if you want to learn more about officiating or benching.
💛 I'm interested but can't come that day?
Totally ok! Just email us and we will invite you for a couple of try-out trainings.

Roller Derby is not a place where you talk yourself down. We believe in you, so you might as well believe in yourself! ❤ Get ready to get out of your comfort zone and to have a blast doing it!
