We are meant to grieve in community, to be witnessed and supported by others. More often in our society, we tend to grieve in solitude and sometimes don’t acknowledge grief at all. By coming together to honor our grief, we can feel the strength of our community and, being held by each other, let the energy and emotions flow through us. In doing so, we can experience the profound relief of grief and rekindle the embers of our love for life.
Join us for a tender full-day immersion into the many forms of grief that we hold.
++PROGRAMME
+Welcoming: Building the Village
We spend the morning together to get to know each other and build a “spontaneous village” together – a group of people who trust and support each other.
+ Workshop: Moving Into Grief
After our lunch break, we move into the territory of grief. There will be an introduction into different forms of grief, and exercises to get in touch with your own grief and sense it in your body.
+ Preparing for the Ceremony
The key event we work towards during the day will be our collective grief ceremony. We will take time to prepare ourselves and the space together.
+ Ceremony: A Shrine for Grief
We spend time together in ceremony for the grief that we hold. This is a magical and tender space where everyone will get a chance to grieve and be supported in their process.
+ Rounding Off: Shared Dinner
After we have grieved, we come together a final time to nourish our bodies with a simple but hearty meal prepared by the facilitators. After we are nourished we take the time to debrief and round off the day.
++ WHY JOIN A GRIEF CEREMONY?
Many of us think that we experience grief only when someone we love dies. Yet there are many forms of grief besides the people we have lost: we can grieve the changes in our bodies, the parts of us that we shame or deny, the destruction of biospheres and species, the loss of communities, of our homes…
Grief is a natural response to loss and yet, in our Western culture, we have few practices and spaces left in which we are allowed to fully engage with the grief and sorrow we hold. With GRIEVING TOGETHER we want to create a space where grief and sorrows of all kinds are welcomed and supported by the love of the people around you. Grief is a life force (as contradictory as this might sound initially), and if we don’t allow our grief to move and flow out, we limit the ways we can show up to our lives.

Please also reach out to us if you feel financially challenged but would like to participate.
++ ABOUT THE FACILITATORS
Thibault is ritual and social game designer as well as a facilitator of various spaces of connection and authenticity. He loves bringing people together in unconventional ways, and fostering a mindset of curiosity and sincerity. Death and grief have become central themes of his work in the last six years. Over the last year he has facilitated several Death Cafés in and around Copenhagen. To further complement this line of work, he has recently finished an End-of-Life-Companion course with Living Well Dying Well, and a Grief Ritual Training with Francis Weller.
Laura is an artist, healer, and facilitator of transformational growth. She guides people on their journeys to accepting more parts of themselves in favor of wholeness and authenticity. She is passionate about creating opportunities for conscious connection, inner exploration and integration, and healing through community. During the pandemic, Laura realized we must grieve in order to live and that such a worldwide shared experience presented the opportunity to hold grief together. Since then, she has held several grief rituals in support of soul activism.
