This year’s NUMA FEST GALA SHOW - HUMAN is an exploration of the shared journey of humanity—how we come together, break apart, and rebuild connections across time, space, and circumstance. Through the art of dance, we will tell stories that reflect the universal themes of human experience, from moments of joy and unity to the challenges of separation and distance.

At the heart of the gala lies the profound idea that, despite the forces that pull us apart—whether through time, change, or distance—the invisible bonds between people endure. These performances will embody the resilience of the human spirit, showing how we constantly reconnect, rebuild, and find each other anew.

Inspiration

The gala draws upon cosmic themes—time, space, and the interconnectedness of all things—to highlight the delicate balance between separation and connection. Through this lens, each performance becomes a reflection of the intricate dance between individuals and their surroundings, illustrating the journey of human relationships as they evolve and transform.

HUMAN: Purpose and Vision

The HUMAN GALA SHOW aims to celebrate the enduring spirit of humanity. It is a reminder that, no matter the challenges, we find ways to reconnect and rediscover our shared bonds. Through diverse dance performances, the show will invite the audience to reflect on their own connections—those that withstand the test of time, space, and circumstance.

As a central part of NUMA FEST, HUMAN will showcase Brisbane as a vibrant hub for international and national artists, a place where stories from around the globe come together to be told through movement. The gala is not only a celebration of the art of dance but also a deeper exploration of what it means to be human—to love, to lose, to reconnect, and to grow.

NUMA FEST GALA SHOW: HUMAN is more than a performance — it's a heartbeat.
A living, breathing constellation of stories told through rhythm, movement, and soul.

As part of NUMA Fest 2025, this gala night invites you into a space where borders dissolve, traditions transform, and the invisible threads that connect us — culture, memory, resistance, and love — come alive on stage.

As the heart of NUMA Fest 2025, this evening gathers artists from across the globe in an unrepeatable tapestry of movement, music, and meaning. Here, dance becomes language, sound becomes skin, and stories are told not through words — but through breath, body, rhythm, and light.

HUMAN explores the raw, beautiful complexity of our shared existence. It is a journey through ancestry and futurism, ritual and rebellion, solitude and connection. Every performance is a thread — from the soil of South America to the temples of Central Asia, from the islands of the Pacific to the deserts of the Middle East — all woven into one living, breathing performance.

At the core of this night, NUMA Fest proudly presents the Artists that will be part of this unforgetable experience, each invited for their extraordinary artistry and vision and Headliners of NUMA FEST 2025.
