Sunshine Coast Surfrider Clean Up Double Island 10-12th October 2025

Clean Up Double Island is one of South East Queensland's biggest beach clean up efforts, removing over a tonne of rubbish from the Cooloola Recreational Park of the Great Sandy National Park each year.

This is a family friendly FREE event, with plenty of fun activities to get involved in over the course of the weekend, live music and a chance to win some great prizes too!

All vehicle and camping permits will be provided to registrants, thanks to the generous support from the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Services. Please add all details correctly into the registration form, including vehicle rego, as this will ensure you have all the correct permitting needed for the event. Only one registration per vehicle please. Please note that all participants must sign on at the Surfrider Registration tent in order to validate your permits. Failure to do so may result in a fine issued by QPWS.

The park is 4x4 access only.

To limit our impact to the beach and campgrounds please car pool and share resources where possible. The Cooloola Recreational Park has been listed under the Surfrider Foundation Australia's Endangered Wave campaign. Over the last few decades and noticeably in recent years, increasing recreational interest and ease of access has put immense pressure on the parks environment and has also raised concern regarding public health safety.

It is compulsory that all campers must provide their own toilets when camping on North Shore. Portable toilets must have a sealed waste holding tank and must be transportable and suitable for emptying into a portable toilet waste disposal facility. Bag and open bucket style toilets are not permitted. Purpose-built portable toilet waste disposal facilities are available for use by campers at the following locations: Second cutting, Noosa North Shore and Freshwater day-use area, (beach camper service bay)

Some Surfrider Merchandise will be available on the weekend and Your Mate's Brewery are providing a karma keg on the Saturday night. There is no reception in the camping zone so please bring cash if you wish to support us by purchasing merchandise or donating for a beer.
