Reiki 1 is called Shoden in Japanese, meaning the first teachings. This level awakens your innate healing abilities and serves as an activation to reconnect to your soul. Reiki 1 will empower you to heal yourself while cultivating self-compassion and mindfulness. Through the elegant practice, you’ll clear energy channels and find your flow with the sacred energy of life. Tailored for beginners - whether you’ve never had a Reiki session before or have had many and read all the books - the course is designed to meet you wherever you are. Woven into the teachings are mindfulness and meditation practices, anchored with the embrace of surrounding nature. Reiki 1 is a transformative container to awaken to your True Self.

Although this step of the journey is about you coming home to your spiritual essence, the course will include practical sessions so you can feel comfortable working on friends, family, and any lucky pets straight away. This training is a very grounded spiritual experience. Reiki will naturally encourage your intuition to lead while offering an abundance of practical tools you can use across your life for support with everything that being human entails.

I teach Reiki 1 in a unique hybrid way, offering the perfect blend of comprehensive in-person training with ongoing online support for diving deeper as you progress through your experience with the energy. You’ll attend one full day of live training for healing, practice, and attunement plus you’ll receive training in an online format so you can review the theory, meditate, and revisit the practical information whenever you need. This course includes a free membership to the Soul Fire Collective - a community of Reiki practitioners who are sharing the journey with you. You’ll receive immediate access to a growing meditation library, be invited to attend monthly mindfulness circles and will have beautiful support to lean on whenever you need. You’ll also be invited to regular community gatherings and Reiki Shares.

Our Reiki 1 in-person training day includes:

• One full day of live tuition with Brighitta

• Practice sessions to build your confidence (learning through experience is essential with Reiki)

• Monthly mindfulness listening circles, a meditation library, and ongoing community connection

The online Reiki theory portion of the course covers:

• Energy theory
• The Reiki Principles
• The history + origins of Reiki
• The five elements of the system
• The chakras as a holistic journey of liberation
• The Japanese energy body - the three diamonds
• What Reiki is and how you can integrate it across your whole life
• The Japanese + Western lineages (your certificate is in both traditions)
• Each lesson includes a guided meditation for direct experience + practice
• Approximately 3-4 hours of material, meant to support your preparation as well as ongoing development

ACCREDITATION:

Our courses are accredited by the Complementary Medical Association (our students are able to join the CMA and receive discounted insurance as well as practitioner support upon completion of Reiki 2). Brighitta has been teaching Reiki since 2016 and practising since 2004.

LOCATION:

The live training days are held at Beechwood Hall, just outside of Lewes. The nearest station is Cooksbridge (a four-minute walk).

From Central London: 60 minute direct trains from either Blackfriars, London Bridge or London Victoria
From South London: 40 minutes from East Croydon or 45 minutes from Clapham Junction
From Brighton: 15 minutes
From Eastbourne: 30 minutes
From Gatwick Airport: 30 minutes

Many of our students commute down from London for the day but if you’d like to make a retreat out of it, reach out and I can send you some ideas! Some of our students have stayed in off-grid shepherd huts or cute B&Bs in and around Lewes. There are many beautiful walks on the South Downs, and the spectacular Cuckmere Haven beach with the glowing Seven Sisters is close by too.

For those driving, there is plenty of free parking at the venue.

If you can’t make our group training dates or would prefer to learn one-to-one (or privately with a friend), you might like to train with me at Wildish Healing - my lovely little shepherd’s hut in the countryside, only 10 minutes from Lewes / 25 minutes from Brighton. Reiki 1 as a one-to-one course is more personal and includes all the same content as a group course, with the addition of a deeply nourishing Reiki & Sound Healing treatment.
