Mark Bowden is no stranger to the stage. As the lead singer of Brisbane’s 1980s punk/new wave band The Lemmings, Mark brought raw energy and charisma to some of the city’s most iconic venues—supporting legendary acts like The Angels, Australian Crawl, The Ramones, and The Vapours.
These days, long-time Coochiemudlo Island resident Mark has swapped the big amps for a more intimate sound—acoustic guitar and soulful vocals. With family members still living on the island and as a regular visitor himself, Mark remains a familiar face to many in the community.
On Father’s Day, Sunday September 7, he will share a laid-back, chilled set of songs, perfect for an afternoon of island vibes at Viva Coochie. Well-known and loved in the local community, Mark’s music is all about connection, nostalgia, and creating a relaxed atmosphere for friends and neighbours to enjoy together.
