FORMAT-
League signups will open on February 2nd and close on February 16th. Players must submit their name and the team they will be playing throughout the league. Any teams available during the current edition of K*ll Team (KT2024) will be eligible regardless of classified status. Signups will be done via the attached Google Sheet. Entering your name will secure your spot in the league, but team selection does not need to be finalized until signups close.
The league will begin on Monday, February 16th at 6PM at Squirrel's Nest. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to the TO or judge for information.
Official League days will occur on the 2nd Monday of every round.
A new round will occur every other Monday subsequent to the first. See below for the complete schedule.
Matches will be assigned via a Swiss bracket - each player will be assigned a match against the player with the closest League Score (see SCORING below) that they haven't played yet. Matches in the first round will be assigned randomly.
Each match will be randomly assigned a killzone, layout and crit op via Approved Ops 2025.
Match assignments will be issued on the first Monday of each round
Each round will close Sunday night. All scores must be submitted by this date. The last round will close at the end of April 12th.
Players should make the best effort to play at Squirrel's Nest on the official round date, but if an assigned match cannot occur on that date, they can play their match at any time between the match assignment and the end of the round, a window of 2 weeks.
Entry fee for the event will be $30 and due by the start of the league, Monday, February 16th.
RULES -
Games will be played according to the rules presented in the KT2024 Rulebook combined with Approved Ops 2025 and the latest balance dataslate. In the event of a rule update occuring during the league, those rules will be adopted at the next session after the update.
Players are expected to provide their own measuring tools, dice, equipment and team rules. However, there will a limited amount of tools available at the store in case a player is missing anything.
Reasonable proxies will be allowed, but please contact the league organizer to confirm. Equipment proxies will be allowed but must match the dimensions of the official equipment.
Dice that do not land with one surface flat against the bottom of the table/surface should be rerolled.
Players are expected to abide by a high level of sportsmanship. Everyone is expected to provide clarity about their team rules when asked, communicate their intent while playing to avoid ambiguity, and always make the best effort for a fun and fair game for both players.
The league organizer is Evan Hecker. League arbitrator is Kellen French.
SCORING -
Scoring will operate by two mechanisms - Primarily via Win/Loss scoring with a league point system for tiebreakers and swiss pairings.
Each player will receive a Win/Loss Score based on the following point values: +3 points for a win, +1 point for a tie, +0 points for a loss.
If a player receives a bye, they will automatically receive +3 W/L Score
If two players are unable to complete a game (NC) despite both players making a reasonable effort to do so, they will both receive +1 W/L Score
Each player begins with a league score of 100
After each round, the player's score will change by a value equal to the points difference of their game for that round, i.e. if their game score ends up 19-11, the winner's league score will increase to 108 and the loser's league score will decrease to 92.
At the end of each game, players will report their scores by category (K*ll, tac, and crit)
Scores will be tracked via a publicly viewable spreadsheet managed by the tournament organizer.
In the event of a bye, wherein a player cannot be assigned an opponent in a given round, they will receive league points equal to the average positive change for that round.
If players are unable to meet and/or complete their assigned game for a given round, both players will receive league points equal to half the average positive change for that round.
The league winner will be determined by the overall highest W/L score after the final round.
