Fact & Fiction on Jesus' Birth: Before the Baby 2

Here are a couple of popular fictions about the birth of Jesus:

Fiction:

Many believe that Jesus' birth was just like the birth of all other Jewish children. There was nothing unusual or special about the birth of the baby of Mary and Joseph.

Fiction:

There are even some atheists that claim that the unusual events claimed by Christians surrounding the birth of Jesus are merely stories copied from the Egyptian religion, particularly the birth of the Egyptian god Horus, son of the creator deity Osiris.

To counter these fictions I want to look at the events that occurred even before the birth of Jesus. Was his birth simply the birth of another human child or was it the culmination of God's plan?

Fact:

God prepared the world to receive Christ. Paul describes the culmination of God's preparation, "But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son…" Galatians 4:4.

Through the providence of God people, languages, cultures and empires were directed to build a fully prepared place and time in which the Lord would enter this world.
