Relaxing Woodland Sound Bath Sessions
Need some deep relaxation? Love nature? Welcome to our lovely woodland setting listening to meditative, relaxing, calming sounds under the trees. The sound baths take place in a tipi in the woods and the doors are left open in warm weather letting in the woodland light.
As the stresses and strains of life melt away, feel your connection with the wild world in and around you deepen. Let the wild wisdom of the natural world infuse every fibre of your being. Feel the tension leave your mind, body and spirit as you relax.
Every month we celebrate the wild wisdom of a different tree through sound.
What is a sound bath?
Despite the name, a sound bath does not involve you getting wet. Instead, you are ‘bathed’ in the relaxing sounds of instruments. These include gently played gongs, singing bowls and beautiful chimes for example. You will be also be surrounded by the birdsong and the sounds of the trees.
Participants usually lie down to experience a full, immersive, relaxed session, although you are welcome to sit instead should that be more accessible.
What will happen in the session?
You will be warmly welcomed. We begin with a short intro and you have the option of taking the tree spirit essence (like a Bach Flower Remedy) of the month. Then you will be invited to lie down. Afterwards we have drink and a snack with talking circle (you don’t have to say anything if you don’t want). Afterwards you are welcome to walk and wander the site to explore the beautiful setting, or just sit among the trees.
What do I need to bring?
Bring something to lie on and a rug. Bring whatever you need to make your session cosy and comfortable so you can fully relax. People usually bring roll mats and rugs, or reclining deckchairs so that they can stretch out and lie down in comfort.
Note: the path down the hill to the tipi is bark chip, please wear sensible shoes.
Where are they held?
The sound bath sessions take place near Congleton in Cheshire on the edge of the Peak District, bordering Staffordshire. It is just 25 minutes from Crewe and Stoke to reach us
Who runs them?
These relaxing woodland Sound Bath sessions are run by Amanda Claire, the founder of Ancient and Sacred Trees (founded in 2014), and now established as our disability led, volunteer run, not for profit Wild Spirit Woods AST CIC, to raise funds to care for the land and wildlife.
With over 30 years’ experience in holding groups and safe spaces you will be well cared for.
