This continuing education presentation is designed for Social Workers and Certified Case Managers and explores the complex ethical challenges that arise in geriatric care, particularly as older adults face progressive health decline, cognitive impairment and increased reliance on others for decision-making.
Participants will examine real-world scenarios involving autonomy, safety, informed consent, end-of-life care and family dynamics. The session emphasizes the importance of ethical decision-making frameworks, interdisciplinary collaboration and effective communication to navigate these sensitive issues with compassion and professionalism. Social workers and case managers will earn 2 CE credits.
