Natalie’s is thrilled to welcome back Detroit’s Queen of the Blues Thornetta Davis

2025 BLUES MUSIC AWARD NOMINEE THORNETTA DAVIS, was crowned Detroit’s Queen of the Blues in 2015 by the Detroit Blues Society, is an internationally acclaimed singer, songwriter, and independent recording artist. With a career spanning decades, she has shared the stage with legends like B.B. King, Ray Charles, Etta James, and Bonnie Raitt. A ten-time Blues Music Award nominee, she won the 2023 Blues Music Award for Best Soul/Blues Artist Female and was a 2024 nominee in the same category. Her powerful vocals and soulful storytelling have earned her over 30 Detroit Music Awards, including multiple wins for her acclaimed album Honest Woman.

In addition to her numerous accolades, Thornetta has been honored with the Jus’ Blues Foundation’s Denise LaSalle Recording of Excellence Award and a star on the Canada South Blues Museum Walk of Fame. Her song “I Believe Everything is Gonna Be Alright” won first place in the 2017 International Songwriting Competition, and Honest Woman received the French La Académie du Jazz Award for Best Blues Album. A recipient of the $25,000 Kresge Fellowship, Thornetta continues to captivate audiences worldwide with her deep, soulful sound, keeping the spirit of the blues alive.
