☝️Park here and look for people with hula hoops, poi, staff, or other flow props. We’ll be in the grass somewhere close by!
Who We Are
Flow With Love is an informal group for Columbus area flow artists to gather, share knowledge, and practice together. Meetups are free to attend with free parking available. All levels are welcome, even if you don’t consider yourself an “artist” or aren’t sure if flow arts is for you yet! Several of us pitch in to coordinate this regular meetup schedule and moderate the Flow With Love Facebook group where everyone is welcome to organize and post additional events. If you have questions, ask in the Facebook group or chat with a host in person at a meetup.
What to Expect
Meetups are informal and without structured programming unless otherwise stated. There will be music playing, and all members are encouraged to suggest genres or bring a playlist of their own to share. If you are newer to the group, our best advice is to wander and ask questions about an interesting prop or trick you see. If you are a regular attendee, please reach out - welcome newer people, say hi to someone you haven’t met, and maybe even revisit a prop you’re not usually into, because why not? Additional tips…
Borrowing - Always ask before borrowing something, and handle it carefully. Some props are delicate, some are expensive.
Spatial awareness - We all lose control of a prop sometimes, and that’s expected. Be aware of the space you are taking up and self-correct to spin respectfully among others, especially with larger or heavier props.
Age - There is no applied age restriction, however this group is primarily for adult attendees to practice and connect.
Accommodations - If you need an accommodation for accessibility or otherwise, speak with a host!
Safety - If someone or something is making you feel unsafe or causing you to have a bad time, speak with a host sooner rather than later. Even if you feel it’s “no big deal” or no action needs to be taken yet.
What to Bring
All props are welcome, as long as you can practice safely around other people. We typically see hula hoops, poi, leviwand, juggling, staff, flowstar and even homemade or unconventional props.
