The road-tested duo Long Tall Deb & Colin John return with an album release party for their band new record Light It Up, out now on VizzTone Label Group. Joining them for this special show will be Chris Butler, Phil Maneri and Jason Edwards with special guests Alastair Greene and Shaun Booker.
The record is receiving positive international attention including regular rotation on Sirius/XM B.B. King’s Bluesville. Known for their globe-spanning musical journey and genre-bending approach, the pair deliver a set that leans deep into blues-rock muscle and deep soul.
Christopher Butler is an American musician, writer, and artist who is best known for leading the 1980’s new wave band The Waitresses. His notable songs include “I Know What Boys Like”, “No Guilt”, “Christmas Wrapping” and the theme song for the TV sitcom Square Pegs. His songs have been covered by Mariah Carey, The Spice Girls, Brandi Carslile, among many others. He has co-produced, co-written and performed on most of the songs on “Light It Up”.
Power vocalist Shaun Booker has toured extensively throughout Europe and South America, performing at major venues and festivals. Her electrifying performances have earned her a dedicated fanbase and critical acclaim, with music transcending language and cultural barriers
Another key collaborator on “Light It Up”, Jason Edwards, Founder and President of ProLogix® Percussion, is a well-established performer, educator, columnist, and innovator. He has performed among such artists as Cake, The Avett Brothers, Lucero, Robert Lockwood Jr., War, Jimmy Thackery, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, and Mary Wilson and the Supremes.
Phil Maneri is a musician’s musician with a career spanning four decades, leaving a long and diverse performance resume. He is especially known for creating many original works, projects and events. One such event, a stage presentation called “The Alsatian Queen” featured a performance tracing the dramatic history of his 160 year-old double bass. Over 40 professional musicians, dancers, paint artists and video creators traced the instrument’s history from its classical origins through jazz, rock and hip-hop.
Ruf Records Recording Artist (and ace guitarist) Alastair Greene has established a reputation, garnered from his acclaimed solo releases in recent years, as well as his extensive touring as a key player in the Alan Parsons Project and Sugaray Rayford’s band. This multi-charting billboard artist’s star is soaring, as his artistic oeuvre continues to grow and expand.
