Lenka Clayton and Phillip Andrew Lewis on the Art of Collaboration

On the occasion of Las Vegas Ikebana: Maren Hassinger and Senga Nengudi, artists Lenka Clayton and Phillip Andrew Lewis reflect on their own collaborative partnership. Since meeting eight years ago, Clayton and Lewis have built a four-story working lighthouse hidden inside a derelict row house, investigated the 650 million-year-old history of their studio building, and installed hundreds of crashed kite sculptures in the trees of downtown Pittsburgh and Governors Island, NYC. The artists will discuss how serendipity, intuition, obsession, improvisation, and working faster than the speed of thought have formed their approach to their collective work.

This program is free with registration.

Registration does not include admission to Las Vegas Ikebana: Maren Hassinger and Senga Nengudi. Admission to the galleries is $5 and can be purchased at the Welcome Desk. Members always receive free admission.
