Creative Lens with Ruun Nuur

Join cinematic practitioner Ruun Nuur for a playful, hands-on workshop exploring chance, intuition, and narrative through images. After an informal walkthrough of Tacita Dean: Blind Folly, participants will take on a Polaroid challenge throughout the museum, then manipulate and sequence their images into a visual story. No photography experience required—just curiosity and a willingness to play

About Ruun Nuur
Ruun Nuur is an independent cinematic practitioner with a diasporic gaze hyper-focused on African and Muslim peoples. She is the co-founder of NO EVIL EYE CINEMA, Documentary Programmer at the Vancouver International Film Festival, and producer of the Field of Vision short They Won’t Call It Murder (2022), a Vimeo Staff Pick that screened at major festivals worldwide. A 2022–24 Wexner Center Artist Residency Award Winner and inaugural Tejumola Olaniyan Creative Writers-in-Residence Fellow, Nuur is currently producing a documentary feature on cycles of socio-political control in Somalia.
