Semester Two Book Study: The Anxious Generation

Join us for a Second Semester 2025 MSTA "Beyond the Book" Club Book Study, featuring The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt.

This study explores the escalating mental health crisis among today’s youth, with a particular focus on the rise of anxiety and its far-reaching consequences. Participants will gain insights into the impact social media, parenting practices, and societal pressures have had on young people’s well-being. We will explore research-based strategies for fostering resilience, emotional regulation, and well-being in young people, providing practical tools for supporting the next generation in navigating an increasingly complex world.

This study is facilitated by MSTA Member Sunnie Miller. Miller is a Special Educator and Behavioral Intervention Specialist for the Branson School District.

Participants are responsible for obtaining their copy of this month's text before the beginning of the book study.

Participants are required to participate in Zoom meetings to provide an opportunity to network with other participants over the concepts shared. The time of the Zoom meeting will be determined by the facilitator with book study participants.

At the end of the month, PD certificates will be emailed to participants who complete all course requirements.

The Learning Management System, Teachable, is used to house discussion board conversations and group materials. Teachable courses are by design asynchronous.
