This October, we’re kicking off the very first Perkins Pottery Throwdown in Collingswood!
Join us in the studio where a handful of brave (and maybe slightly crazy) students and ceramic artists will face off in 3 Feats of Clay — wild, messy, and totally entertaining challenges pulled straight from the kiln of imagination.
Expect quick demos, rowdy competition, live judging, and plenty of laughs under the watchful eyes of Paul & Brie. Three rounds will decide who takes the clay… and who takes the cleanup bucket.
Whether you’re competing or spectating, it’s bound to be a fast-paced, fun, and social evening. Meet other makers, students, and instructors in the studio after hours!

Speed Throw
Surprise Theme Handbuilding
Blindfold Challenge
Spectators are welcome — come cheer (or jeer!) for your favorites.
Clay will be provided to competitors.
Bring your own apron, tools, snacks, and drinks. And remember… no clay fights (sorry, rules are rules).
Prize: The champion takes home a bag of clay and endless bragging rights.
All competitors will also receive a voucher good for an open studio session (perkins students only), Community Connection, or a future Pottery Throwdown.
We’re expecting some serious mudslinging — and you’ll want to be here when it all goes down.
