Fully Alive…Together

At the previous retreat, we explored the concept of being “Fully Alive - Finding Your Place As An Image Bearer of God.” This September, the Walking Stick team invites attendees, both returning and new, to Eagle Eyrie Conference Center, just outside Lynchburg, Virginia to continue discussing the theme of Fully Alive, with a focus on community as "Fully Alive...Together."
Andrew Peterson said, “Community looks you in the eye and reminds you who you are in Christ... They reiterate your calling when you forget what it is.” How do we LIVE that? How do we call that out in others?
Through interactive teaching, small group discussions, and periods of reflection and worship, we will learn how to actively listen to others' storylines, explore deeper aspects beyond surface-level interactions, and learn the difference between providing support and enabling unhealthy choices. We will also learn to follow the Holy Spirit's guidance and use tools to foster an emotionally and spiritually safe community for everyone.
Yep, all this and more in just 2 ½ days! Come prepared to work and listen, grow and stretch, laugh and play and experience the Spirit in our midst at Fully Alive…Together.
Join the Walking Stick Tribe September 26-28 as we celebrate our 20th retreat and our 10th anniversary! We will gather at Eagle Eyrie Conference Center near Lynchburg, Virginia. Eagle Eyrie is an exceptional Christian conference center located on 425 acres of Virginia’s beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. The peaceful environment promotes spiritual reflection, unity and growth.
You will experience times of challenging teaching, small group interaction, and life-changing worship. You’ll have time to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones; take a quiet walk in the prayer labyrinth; or find a private spot to do some journaling. There will be laughter and tears as we work through joys and sorrows together.
We believe the Christian life is to be lived in community and we invite you to be a part of our wonderful, sometimes strange, and loving tribe where you can be known, seen, and accepted while being invited to heal from the scrapes and bruises of life and grow together.
