CERAMIC WORKSHOPS – 3 Week Taster at COFFS HARBOUR BOTANIC GARDENS
My name is Heather May, and I am a professional Ceramicist who has lived and worked with ceramics, the community and creative people of all abilities for 20+ years in Australia, Canada and UK.
I am running a 3 week taster course on Mondays 24th November, 1st and 8th December at the Botanic Gardens Display Room for a small group (4-6ppl) in the lead up to Christmas.
Come along and try your hand at handbuilding, wheelwork and decoration to make something special for yourself or to gift to a loved one for Christmas.
You could make a bowl for sweets, platter for pastries, a favourite mug or a sculpture to admire. Or all of the above! Lots more ideas for thoughtful functional things to gift, or simply come and experiment and enjoy the natural feeling of working with clay in the beautiful surroundings of the Coffs Botanic Gardens.
ABOUT ME (QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE):
• Bachelor Degree in Fine Art – Ceramics Major
• Experienced in Ceramic Workshop Facilitation and Disability Support 8yrs across 2 Countries
• 20+ years as a professional Ceramicist exhibiting and selling
• Worked in Community Engagement, Creative and Events teams in Regional Councils
WORKSHOP LOCATION AND TIMES:
• Coffs Harbour Regional Botanic Gardens – Display Room
• Mondays 9:30am – 12pm - 24th Nov, 1st Dec, and 8th Dec
FEES:
• $380 for a 3-week block
• Includes all materials, morning tea, professional tuition and support, use of all tools and equipment, preparation and cleanup, glazing and firing.
• Apron provided to protect clothing, but suitable attire is recommended
Experience or knowledge of ceramics is not required. I will work with the individual to build capacity and creative expression.
