All are welcome to join us for this free event open to the public. No experience necessary. We will sing from The Sacred Harp, 1991 Edition (Denson); loaner books will be provided.
We'll have coffee & light breakfast available starting at 9:15am, a singing school starting at 9:30am, potluck dinner on the grounds mid-day, and singing until 3:00 pm.
We'll sing in the Fellowship Hall of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, at 525 Minutemen Causeway, Cocoa Beach, FL 32931. This is an accessible, air-conditioned space with ample parking, restrooms, and a kitchen with refrigerator, oven/microwave, and electrical outlets for your crockpot.
Shape note singing is an American a cappella tradition. Characterized by open 4-part harmonies and a powerful sound, shape note singing is music designed primarily for participation, rather than for performance. For more information about The Sacred Harp or shape note singing, visit fasola.org
