Mending Skills: Create a sewing kit

In this workshop, we will identify the essentials in a sewing kit small enough to take on trips and/or to always have on hand. We will touch on the history of such sewing kits, list at least a dozen different designs and guide participants to begin to make such a kit of their own. Alternatively, participants can make a simple needle book using scraps of fabric. A needle book is often part of a travel kit and might make a very welcome gift for the forthcoming gift sharing season!

A Mending circle is a "group of people sitting together repairing clothing and other textile items” ...and enjoying it! Sometimes menders share techniques and stitches, sometimes there’s casual chat, and sometimes relaxing silence.

All welcome even if you don’t have sewing or mending experience :)
