This workshop is a combination of lecture and demonstration. It is designed to help dog owners, fosters and training professionals understand the why, when, and how of muzzle use.

• Types of Muzzles
• Proper Sizing
• Step by step muzzle conditioning
• Why muzzle training benefits all dogs
• The role of muzzles for visits, grooming, emergencies, reactivity plans and more.
• How to integrate muzzle use into a thoughtful training or behavior modification plan
• What to avoid: unsafe styles, poor fits, and outdated training methods
• Advocating for your dog in public and reducing social judgement
• Troubleshooting common issues (pawing, resistance, overexcitement)

This workshop is eligible for IABBC and CCPDT for continuing education for dog trainers certified through these organizations.
