The CDC found that three out of every four high school students in the United States reported facing an adverse childhood experience (ACE), with almost one in five reporting
having experienced four or more incidents. These traumatic experiences can have a significant impact on a child's ability to participate and learn in a school environment. This session will explore how musical activities, and specifically those aligned with the Orff philosophy, can facilitate communication, belonging, and healing for students who have experienced trauma.
