Icons After Dark: Medium and Materials

The Icon Museum and Study Center invites the curious and inquisitive to join us for a unique after-hours experience.

Join volunteer educator Michael Popik while he explains the meticulous process of board preparation, the unique properties of different woods, and the natural forces that cause warping over time. Museum staff will lead hands-on explorations of the paints made from valuable minerals and the silver and gold that make the icons shimmer.

Throughout this special evening, guests are invited to engage with fellow enthusiasts while enjoying refreshments. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to deepen your appreciation for these sacred works of art.
