Presenter: Jeremy Turner, outdoorsman and a citizen of the Shawnee Tribe

Description: The diverse and well populated forests of Mospelwa (Ohio) provided Shawnees plentiful food sources, and later on in the 18th century, also an economic advantage in the fur trade. Jeremy will share the history of Shawnees participating in an 18th century global economy based on this trade, highlighted by the various trading posts in the region. Then with the Clifton Gorge at our fingertips, Jeremy and Preserve Manager Michele Comer will lead a walk into the preserve to discuss hunting and trapping techniques, as well as the plant life that's native and still present in the area.
