Introducing: Warhammer 40,000 Skies of Fire
A unique game of Warhammer 40,000 where armies battle for air superiority in the magnetically charged violet skies above Ascendus VII, in an apocalypse style format. With 7 unique stratagems, and dangerous lightning nimbus terrain rules, air marshals will have their skills put to the test in a game of Warhammer 40,000 unlike any other.
Bring up to 1000 points using a Warhammer 40,000 match play detachment.
Restriction: Only units with the fly keyword can be included in your army.
Skies of Fire Universal Stratagems:
((Absolute Reflexes 2CP))
When: any shooting phase when a unit is targeted.
Target: any unit.
Effect: the chosen unit can only be hit on an unmodified hit roll of 6+ on the dice for the duration of the shooting phase.
((Ace Maneuvers 2CP))
When: any phase when a unit is targeted.
Target: flyer model only.
Effect: the chosen unit gains a 2+ invulnerable save for the duration of the phase.
((Counter Measures 1CP))
When: any shooting phase.
Target: flyer model only.
Effect: the chosen unit gains -1 to hit for the duration of the shooting phase, and a 5+ feel no pain.
((Aerial Destroyer 1CP))
When: any phase when a unit is activating range or melee attacks.
Target: any unit.
Effect: the chosen unit’s weapons gains anti-flyer 3+ for the duration of the phase.
((Killer Instinct 1CP))
When: any phase when a unit is activating either ranged or melee attacks.
Target: any unit.
Effect: the chosen unit’s weapons gains devastating wounds.
((Hard Bank 1CP))
When: any phase when a unit is targeted by range or melee attacks.
Target: flyer model only.
Effect: the chosen unit reduces all damage to 1 for a single enemy unit’s activation.
((Final Run 1 CP))
When: activating player’s charge phase.
Target: flyer model only.
Effect: the flyer model inflicts 3D6 mortal wounds on its charged target or targets, and in addition automatically explodes, inflicting D6 additional mortals to all units within 6 inches, regardless of its deadly demise characteristic.
Restrictions: this stratagem can only be used on a unit that is below half strength.
Terrain Rules:
Lightning Clouds: any time a model ends a move without 6 inches of a lighting cloud, on a 4+ the unit suffers D6 mortal wounds, and in addition must take a battle shock test. All cloud formations scatter 2D6 inches at the beginning of every command phase.
