Some Enchanted Evening – The Songs of Rodgers & Hammerstein
Not So Common Players is thrilled to announce auditions for Some Enchanted Evening – The Songs of Rodgers & Hammerstein, directed by Peter Mostert.
This beloved musical revue features timeless classics from the legendary team of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, including songs from Oklahoma!, Carousel, South Pacific, The King and I, and The Sound of Music.
Some Enchanted Evening is a musical revue, not a book musical. There are no specific characters from a single storyline. Instead, performers portray a variety of romantic leads, comic personalities, ingénues, and character types drawn from the Rodgers & Hammerstein canon.
Audition Dates
Sunday, March 29 | 2:00 – 4:00 PM
Monday, March 30 | 7:30 – 9:30 PM
What to Prepare
A 32-bar (approximately 1 minute) cut of a song from the show or in the style of Rodgers & Hammerstein
A monologue of your choice (memorization not required)
Please bring sheet music in the correct key if the song is not from the show.
Audition Location
Clifton Park Senior Community Center
6 Clifton Commons Blvd., Clifton Park
Rehearsals will be limited, as this production is a musical revue/concert-style performance.
Most rehearsals will focus on solos, duets, and small groups
Full cast music and staging rehearsals will also be scheduled
Rehearsal evenings will be selected from Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday
Performance Dates
May 29–30
June 4–7
Performances will be held outdoors at the Common Stage in Clifton Park at 8PM.
