Taking a page from FL2K, TX2K, and SCBR we are looking at jumping into this Street Car Class with an eye on keeping our Nostalgia, Retro, and Daily Street Racers engaged with a tiered blind qualifying and running multiple groups within the category!
PLATES & 28’s
Class description - Plates & 28’s is intended for Street Raced RWD cars and trucks. (Typical street raced vehicles) that are legally registered with current tags and PROOF of registration and insurance. Dealer tags and all forms of temporary tags are STRICTLY prohibited. These cars and trucks may be back halved, with tubular front K members. But must retain all stock front suspension mounting points, and retain their original wheelbase. All entries must retain all OEM looking sheet metal and OEM roof and ¼ panels. Full Tube chassis are prohibited. Entries to the class deemed by the tech inspector to be outside the spirit of the class will be given a refund.
· Must have functional head lights, tail lights, & brake lights.
· Must have a functional charging system with working alternator.
· Must have a functional cooling system. Rear mounted radiators are legal.
· Maximum tire size for all entries is 28/10.5 Non W or 275/60/15 radials
· Entries must retain front sheet metal including the grille, front bumper cover, fenders and hood.
· Must have stock firewall in stock location
· Entries must retain stock floor pans from the firewall to the rear frame rails. Stock frame rails must be functional and intact from the driver’s seat area to the stock firewall.
· Billet Cylinder Heads, Blocks, and Intakes are prohibited.
· Engines blocks must be of standard bore space and cast in aluminum or cast iron.
· Entries must retain stock appearing front windshields and rear glass. Optic Armor or OEM replacement only.
Class description: Outlaw Street Car Shootout Presented by Edgewater Sports Park:
• All NHRA Safety Rules Apply
• 1/8 Mile Race
• Heads Up, Pro Tree, Red Light Loses
• Single elimination
• We will qualify this class and split it into groups of 16 or 8 depending on ET range of groups of competitors and car count(if we have 32 cars we will run two groups, if we have 48 or more we will run 3 groups) Each class will have a breakout of .10 of the number 1 qualifier. The Second & Third class payout will be half of the first class payout.
General Rules:
• Every vehicle must have a license plate, proof of current registration and valid insurance.
• Driver’s meeting will determine if there will be a cruise before eliminations. Weather, timing, etc will determine whether the cruise is necessary. Be prepared to cruise. If we do mandatory cruise, the cruise will happen Saturday at 11:00 am. Eliminations (subject to change)
• All vehicles must have a functional alternator
• All vehicles must have a functioning radiator and water pump
• We will allow approximately 20 minutes between rounds
• Headlights and brake lights must exist and be operational (one of each may be removed during competition for any reason after passing tech).
• Must be able to return from a pass on its own power under normal use. Breaking and being towed back will not DQ if the car is able to be safely repaired. This tow exemption can only be used once during the event.
Vehicle Rules:
• Body: Any year vehicle is allowed. Lightweight components are limited to hood, front fenders, deck lid, hatches, doors, sunroofs/T-tops/targa tops, wings, ground effects, and bumpers only. Quarter panels must remain as originally manufactured. One-piece front ends are not permitted. No body parts may be removed during competition.
• Chassis: All cars must retain complete stock chassis, firewall, and frame rails. Notching of chassis for clearance is permitted. Aftermarket “K” members are permitted.
• Suspension: All cars must utilize stock style front suspension. Aftermarket front control arms, rear control arms, and sub-frame connectors are permitted. Any style rear suspension permitted.
• Interior: Stock style dashboard and full interior from front seats forward is required (passenger seat may be removed). Aftermarket seats, gauges, and interior are permitted.
• Exhaust: Muffler(s) are required unless vehicle is turbocharged. Exhaust may exit anywhere. Electronics: Two-steps, data loggers, aftermarket ECUs, and engine management systems are permitted.
• Driveline: Aftermarket axles, ring and pinions, final drive, spools, and differentials are permitted.
• Transmission: Manual or Auto transmissions are permitted. Any style automatic transmission is permitted. Transbrakes are permitted.
• Fuel: Gasoline or Ethanol or M1 based race fuels are permitted. The use of M5 is PROHIBITED.
• Tires: Drag Radial no larger than 315/60/15 or Bias Ply no larger than 29″x10.5W” If using 17 or 18 inch wheels tire can be any size.
• Engine: No Restrictions
• Power Adders: Rotary, 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder no restrictions, 8 cylinder and up limited to Single power adder (Twin Turbos ok)
Modern Street & Gear Bangerz will be combined and follow the two original rule sets.
MODERN STREET 1/4 Mile
Modern Street is a class intended for late model muscle cars and trucks with or without power adders, that maintain their full interior and retain modern options such as Air Conditioning, Power Steering, Power Brakes, ect. Entries into this class must maintain their original O/D automatic or manual Transmission. Minimum Weight for entries to this class is 3500lbs. Each competitor will be required to cross the scales after each round of competition regardless who’s win light comes on.
· Open to 2005 and newer model year cars and trucks.
· AWD ALLOWED
· Full interior required with stock dash, door panels, carpet, and roll up windows. Rear seat delete ok.
· Lightweight aftermarket steering columns prohibited
· Functional AC, Heat, Wipers, head, tail, turn signals and brake lights.
· 15” wheel conversions allowed
· Must use drag radial or slick
· Mandatory Cruise
GEAR BANGERZ 1/4 Mile
This class is intended for street legal 2wd cars and trucks with stick shift transmissions and H pattern shifters. Cars entered in this class must have stock style suspension or ladder bars. No full tube chassis cars.
· No sequential shifters
· No V gate shifters
· No strain gauges
· 28/10.5 Non W or 275/60/15 max tire size.
· 17” and larger wheels unlimited tire size
· Must have stock firewall in stock location and stock floor pans
· Roll up windows mandatory
· Full Interior including stock dash, & door panels. Back seat delete ok. Race seats allowed.
Our Index Classes (13.50-13.0-12.50), (12.0-11.50-11.0) and (7.0-6.50-6.0) and an Open Comp style bracket race. There will still be a cruise on Saturday with route & locations to follow.
We will combine Modern Street & Gear Bangerz into a single quarter mile class as well for you guys!
