We will be planting three (3) trees at Estabrook Recreation Center. In October 2022, we planted 25 trees here. Over the last couple of years, a few have died due to deer damage. We will be replacing some of these trees to add to the landscape of the park! In order to replace the trees, we will also be removing the dead ones.
What will volunteers do?
Volunteers will learn how to plant a tree from the Old Brooklyn Tree Stewards. We will shovel the 3 dead trees out of the ground as a group, and plant 3 new trees together. This is a family friendly, kid friendly opportunity.
What will volunteers need to bring or wear?
Volunteers should wear comfortable clothes they don't mind getting dirty. Closed toed shoes are a must. Dress for the weather (i.e. sun, wind, rain). Please bring a water bottle. There will be a jug to refill on site.
Gloves, shovels, knee pads and any other tools needed will be provided. Feel free to bring your own if you choose.
