SAMHAIN: Dinner & Ceremony

Samhain, Halloween, Hallowmas, Shadowfest, Feast of Apples, All Saints and All Souls Days, Dia de Muertos in México, the Pitru Paksha period of Hinduism, and the days from Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur in Judaism. All these vary in names and practices, but along with other traditions across the world, they share the same intention: to mark times of heightened ancestral reverence at the onset of Autumn by honoring those who have passed with food, celebration, and ceremony.

It’s fitting in this season, when nights grow longer and the air turns crisp; when leaves blaze in glory before falling gracefully to death’s waiting embrace that we honor the souls of those in our bloodlines.

At this Autumn Ceremony, we will adorn our altars and dinner tables with marigolds, meditate on the cycles of nature, offer gratitude for those who came before us, and invite the special foods of the season to warm our bodies. Join us as we share the recipes of our families in this Autumn offering, Friday October 17th at The Matriarchy.

Each Seasonal Herbal Blending Ceremony is special, as it's an intentional space to exhale and align with the Earth and her herbal offerings in a community of fellow seekers. Prepare to be welcomed into the transformative magic of ritual, reflection, and genuine connection.

Each gathering is different—shaped by the energy of the season and those present in the room - but at the core, you can expect:

• Opening Ritual & Meditation – Create sacred space by altar building, aligning with the elements, and intention setting

• Learning about the benefits and wisdom that each herb has to offer

• Mixing a blend of the herbs of your choice into a tea that you take home to nurture you throughout the season

• Journaling and Blessing your herbal tea blend with your intention

• Reflection and Oracle Cards – Exploring our connection to Spirit and sharing thoughts

• Closing Ritual – Offering gratitude and integration

We will end the evening with a supper club style meal paired with non-alcoholic seasonal drinks. A vegetarian feast that celebrates the bounty of this year's harvest and honors the food of our ancestors and the land.
