Sacred Vessels for Samhain
Craft Your Own Cauldron, Pumpkin Spirit, or Offering Jar
As the Wheel of the Year turns toward Samhain, the time of deep reflection, ancestor honouring, and magic-making draws near. In this earthy, hands-on pottery workshop with Diane, you’ll create a ritual vessel—a sacred object born of your hands, imbued with intention, and ready to serve your magical practice.
Choose to shape a witch’s cauldron, a grinning jack-o’-lantern spirit, or a ceremonial offering jar—each with its own symbolic power. Your piece will begin as a wheel-thrown base in earth speckled clay, and you will be guided to build upon it using traditional hand-building techniques, carving symbols, spirit faces, and sacred adornments into its surface.
🌕 What You May Create:
A cauldron to hold herbs, ashes, moon water, or spell remnants
A jack-o’-lantern to protect your threshold and light the way for ancestral spirits
A treat jar or offering vessel to place on your altar with seasonal gifts
🍂 What You’ll Learn:
Clay-carving and building techniques suitable for all experience levels
Symbolic design guidance—carve runes, sigils, vines, or ancestral markings
Seasonal lore around Samhain, sacred fire, and the spirit of the vessel
Glaze selection to finish your piece with elemental energy
Ritual Craft with Intention
This is more than a pottery class—it’s a seasonal rite of creation. Your vessel will be dried with care, glazed in your chosen finish, and fired in the kiln. It will be ready for collection in 2–3 weeks, just in time to be placed on your altar or doorstep for All Hallows’ Eve.
