Nature Includes You Printmaking Workshop

Join Zygote Press and the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park for a 2-day Nature Includes You monoprinting workshop! Participants will use premixed inks from a color palette designed by Zygote specially for this workshop.

This workshop is for adults 18+ years.

Day One (September 27, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm):

Participants will begin with a question about their relationship to nature and will be asked to discuss it in the context of artistic expression. After they have had the opportunity to ideate their concept, they will receive a brief overview of the monoprint process with examples of different techniques such as stenciling, additive layering, reductive layering and textural layering.

During the remainder of the workshop, participants will create their own unique 8” x 10” prints, experimenting with different kinds of materials. At the end of the first day, they will be given an explanation of the collaborative print process they will be participating in on the following day.

Day Two (September 28, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm):

Using elements from the monoprints they created on the first day, participants will work together to make 4-6 collaborative 22” x 30” monoprints. These large-scale monoprints will become part of the Conservancy for CVNP’s archive, to be potentially used as a public art installation in their anticipated new space.

There is free parking available in the lot adjacent to the studio.

Nature Includes You is a project of Cuyahoga Valley National Park in collaboration with Museum of Creative Human Art (MOCHA) and Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park. A total of 15 organizations contributed images of people from diverse Northeast Ohio communities. The show highlights the work of more than 20 photographers.Funding provided by a grant from the National Park Service with additional support from the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District.
