In the Ancient Near East, every shepherd carried two essential instruments:
• The rod—a weapon of defense, symbolizing strength and authority.
• The staff—a tool of guidance and rescue, symbolizing grace and care.
Together, they paint a powerful picture of how God both protects and directs His people.
This week we’ll learn how faith finds comfort in correction, and confidence in God’s covering.
