A quick blurb: Executive Functions are the skills in our brain that help us accomplish our goals. They help us plan,
organize, start, and follow through with all tasks. Strong Executive Functioning Skills make life easier.
They help us manage time more effectively, develop stronger self-control, and persevere through tough problems.
The main Executive Functioning Skills are: Planning, Organization, Time Management, Task Initiation,
Working Memory, Metacognition, Self-Control, Sustained Attention, Flexibility, and Perseverance.
Through the course of this presentation, we will discuss each of these skills in depth and help the
audience realize how to improve their own executive functioning skills as well as understand how to
better assist their students in developing these skills.
