Project: Enjoy the beauty of Mount Diablo’s foothills as we fight impacts of climate change by watering native restoration plantings. In order to help increase survival rates, we water each seedling every three weeks during dry months. Watering is the vital next step to this restoration project and we need your help! Volunteers will meet at Clayton Park 'N ride at 1000 Peacock Creek and load into our SMD vehicle to water at Irish Canyon. Our project at Irish Canyon is in partnership with the East Contra Costa County Habitat Conservancy and East Bay Regional Park District.
Please note: Watering involves walking on uneven and sloped terrain while holding 2-gallon jugs of water in each hand to nourish seedlings (around 32lbs total). Our summer events are held earlier in the morning so that we can enjoy the cooler parts of the day. The site does not have a bathroom facility.

We have put 700 plants in the ground and we need your help taking care of them! We will be watering the native plantings, and weeding or mulching as needed. Please join us to enjoy a day outdoors building native habitat.
