"Pathways Through Nature" Speaker Series with Maxine Stone, Author

Author Maxine Stone joins our "Pathways Through Nature" Speaker on March 3rd! Get ready for Spring by learning about our local mushrooms when she presents "MISSOURI'S WILD MUSHROOMS: BUT ARE THEY EDIBLE?"

Maxine Stone is past-president of the Missouri Mycological Society and has served on its board of directors. She is a passionate mycophile (someone who is fascinated by mushrooms) and loves studying and teaching mycology. With a Bachelors from Fontbonne University and a Masters from Washington University, Maxine has a deep love of the outdoors and learning. She is a Master Gardener with the Missouri Botanical Garden, a Missouri Master Naturalist with the Department of Conservation and has a Master Naturalist Certificate from St Louis Community College. Maxine lives in St Louis, where her kitchen is full of dried and preserved mushrooms. A happy day for her is one spent hunting and cooking mushrooms with family and friends.
