Growing Up in Jefferson Barracks: The Early Years

As a child resident of Jefferson Barracks from 1948 to 1956, author Pam Vaccaro shares stories of playing in the former mess hall, the base POW prison, and event the tunnel from the commandment’s house to the Mississippi River. See personal items including photos, postcards, sports memorabilia of the JB Boys and Girls Club, the St. Bernadette Ladies’ Club cookbook, and even a piece of the floor from one of the barracks apartments.
