'Tis the season! The St. Louis English Country Dancers present our triple-barreled Holiday Dance on Friday, December 12th, 2024. We'll celebrate at Wydown United Church 6501 Wydown Blvd. (there's a map on our website, www.stlecd.org; ample parking available in the church lot). We'll do a selection of English Country Dances, including our own "Good King Wenceslaus", which we'll also sing in celebration of Christmas, and we'll dance Ludwig's Hora to celebrate Hanukkah and Beethoven's Birthday. The dances will be called by Peter Wollenberg, Karen Jackson, Courtney Cartwright, and others, to the music of the Original Speckled Band (Alyssa, Rich, Rinn and Tim).
Beginners are warmly welcomed. All dances will be taught and called. No partner or costume required (comfortable clothes and shoes recommended), although for this dance, festive attire is encouraged.
7:00 pm: Workshop - come learn the steps you'll need before the evening's dance.
7:30 pm: Dancing to live music.
We'll dance until 9:30 pm, with a short break in the middle (bringers of food for the break will be warmly thanked). The dancing concludes with a waltz.
$10 - please join us. Proof of COVID vaccinations is required. Come celebrate the festive season! A splendid time is guaranteed for all!
