The Town of Clarkdale will again be having “Tommy Rocks The Beatles” perform for the Concert in the Park Series. Tommy has brought together an amazing band! For Beatles fans, it will be a show not to be missed.
The band features frontman Tommy “Rocks” Anderson on guitars and vocals, keyboardist Kyle Scarborough, bassist Pablo Richards, drummer Gabriel Rhodes, guitarist Kevin Crum, and Dale Schold on backing vocals.
You probably have seen and heard Tommy Rocks. He is a well-known acoustic rock musician who has performed on stages throughout America. He is also the owner of music store Tommy Rocks Music Store in Jerome. You can catch Tommy performing a wide range of shows with his various bands. He is best known locally as ‘The Beatles Guy’ in Arizona.
On his musical journey, Tommy was the bandleader and frontman for the popular Arizona Beatles band “Ringo McLennonSon”, which covered songs of the Beatles and their later solo careers. Tommy went on to perform solo Beatles shows. He later added friend and bassist Pablo Richards and formed the band “The Beatless” and released a live CD called “The Beatless & Friends: John Lennon Birthday Bash.” Tommy brought in keyboardist Kyle Scarborough for his next Beatles project “B3”. CDs will be available at the show, along with Tommy’s other CDs.
Kyle lives in Texas but returns to reconnect with Tommy and Pablo whenever he gets the opportunity. “I’m still drawn back to Arizona every year to share this magical experience with my friends and fans of Beatles music.” He has been performing Beatles music with Pablo and Tommy for over a decade. Kyle hails from Houston,Texas, where his musical adventures have spanned many genres. “Rock and Roll, Blues, Country - every era and every genre has its own appeal. I love it all”.
Bassist Pablo Richards (bass and vocals) has been a professional musician since childhood. By the time he was in high school he had his eyes and ears set on being a musician. He has inspired both fellow musicians as well as fans alike as a talented bassist, singer, pianist and guitarist. He collaborated withTommy in the Tempe-based Beatles band “Ringo McLennonSon.” He performs with Tommy, Kyle and New York City’s own Joe Berger in the rock band OvO. He honed his chops in beach clubs along Florida’s East Coast before returning to his roots in Arizona and reconnecting with his pal Tommy.
You’ve definitely heard drummer and local legend Gabriel Rhodes. Son of musician and Hall of Fame Inductee Danny Rhodes, Gabriel has gone on to create his own musical legacy with his bands Heavy Soul and The Well Dressed Wolves. He’s toured with over twenty artists with playing styles ranging from Rock to New Orleans Funk. Gabriel has been playing drums since he was two and performing since he was eight years old. On top of being a hard working full time musician, he is one of the nicest people that you will ever meet.
Kevin Crum has been entertaining the valley since the 1970s. He has been a major contributor to such bands as Captain Trips, Marmalade Skies, the Coverups, the Tina Bailey Band and Summer of Love. As a solo performer, Kevin brings years of experience on guitar, keyboards, and percussion along with a collection of hundreds of songs, more than a few jokes, and a knack for audience participation.
Local singer Dale Schold will be returning to add his unique blend of vocal talent to the show. He is a huge fan of everything Beatles and has been performing onstage with Tommy for nearly a decade.
Come join us! Bring your lawn chairs, singing voices and dancing shoes for an evening of good fun and great music. Food vendors will be set up along main street.
