Step back in time and uncover nearly 200 years of history at one of Tasmania’s most significant heritage sites.
Join us for a family-friendly guided walking tour through the atmospheric Barracks Precinct of Willow Court.
Our knowledgeable guides will bring the past to life as you explore the remarkable stories and colonial architecture dating back to the 1830s—the oldest buildings still standing on the site today.
For 60 minutes, you’ll journey through the complex and captivating history of Willow Court, Australia’s oldest continuously operating mental health institution still on its original grounds. Discover the lives, struggles, and legacies that shaped this extraordinary place.
Tours run every Saturday with two session times available. Sunday tours are offered on select dates.
Adults: $35 (16+)
Child: $15 (5-15yrs)
Bookings are essential.
This is an outdoor walking tour therefore please dress for all weather conditions. Some access points may not be suitable for people with restricted mobility due to uneven surfaces and stairs. It is not fully wheelchair accessible. Please contact us for more information regarding access.
