Join us for a 6-week beginners course, classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30 - 9.30pm. The 6 weeks start Thursday 16th April and run until 21st May 2026.
Aikido develops mental and physical skills to maintain a calm and positive mindset. This helps you remain clear-headed and make good decisions in challenging situations.
Because it’s about not fighting, Aikido works in many situations and has benefits across your life and interactions with other people (it’s also good fun). In this six week course, you will learn the basic principles of Ki Aikido, and a range of aikido exercises in a way that is accessible to anyone.
These will include:
- Exercises to loosen and lengthen the body
- Exercises to train physical efficiency, based on relaxation and posture
- Principles of mind and body co-ordination showing how mind and body work together to create greater resilience
- How to fall and roll safely
- How to work with a partner without creating conflict
- A set of beginner level throws and falls
