TRASHION SHOW INFORMATION AND OFFICIAL RULES
Recycling on the Runway, is a family-friendly trash fashion show. Unleash creativity by making wearable art using recycled, upcycled, scrap and/or reused materials. Win prizes, build community and help bring awareness to the importance of protecting our environment.
This is an outdoor event, and it may rain. Please plan accordingly.
WHERE: At the Sustainability Fair in the Farmer’s Market area in downtown Milwaukie.
WHEN: Saturday, September 6TH, 2025 Accepted applicants are to arrive NO LATER than 12:00 for check-in at the tent behind the announce podium. The Trashion Show begins at 12:30. Entrants may join in the “Trashion Walk" around the Sustainability Fair at the end or wait in front of the podium for judging.

OFFICIAL RULES
MATERIALS:
Outfits must be made from recycled, upcycled, scrap or repurposed materials. NO NEW MATERIALS should be used to create your outfit (Example: no new garbage bags or new items that look like trash will be allowed. Fasteners like safety pins and tape, etc. are OK but must constitute no more than about 5% of the design). Your created outfit must contain NO hazardous materials, glass, or sharp objects that could cut or cause harm.
OUTFIT REQUIREMENTS:
Outfits must be wearable, have good lines of sight and the model must be able to move and walk safely and freely while wearing it. Shoes must not impede walking. Participants will receive extra points in judging for accessories like hats, jewelry, bags, etc. that are created from recycled materials to complement their outfits.
Safety is of utmost importance. Keep this in mind when creating your design to allow safety in movement and again, do not include hazardous materials, or sharp, dangerous elements. Respect and Inclusivity: Respect for all participants, judges and audience members is paramount. This event champions inclusivity and encourages diversity.
