Private Workshop
Saturday October 11 - Wednesday, October 15, 2025
Join us for a rare opportunity to sketch Mexico City alongside internationally acclaimed illustrator, author, and Berlin-based art professor Felix Scheinberger. This adventurous five-day workshop explores expressive sketching, cultural storytelling, and visual interpretation in one of the world’s most vibrant and complex cities.
Felix's time in Mexico City will begin with free demos and sketch walks in collaboration with his product sponsors and CDMX art store, "Lumen". This is an opportunity for all interested artists to meet Felix, learn a bit about his process and join him on a sketch walk in the neighborhood.
The private workshop experience begins on Saturday evening after his public events, and our workshop will take you through the layered history and energy of Mexico City. From the ancient ruins of Templo Mayor, to the monumental pyramids of Teotihuacan, to the leafy grounds of Chapultepec Park, this workshop is built to ignite both your creative and cultural curiosity.
Felix will guide you through his signature approach to expressive illustration — blending character, chaos, and clarity — while Meagan Burns facilitates the daily flow and logistical magic. You’ll sketch on-site, learn by doing, and leave with a full sketchbook and a revitalized sense of how to see the world through your line.
What You'll Learn with Felix
- How to sketch expressively with energy, attitude, and emotion; perfectionism not required
- How to develop your personal drawing voice through line, color, and observation
- How to tell visual stories on location — capturing architecture, people, and rhythm
- How to loosen up your lines and bring scenes to life with character and chaos
- Insight into Felix’s process of using sketchbooks as daily creative companions
Who Should Take This Workshop
This experience is for artists, illustrators, sketchbook lovers, and visual thinkers who want to draw with more personality, energy, and edge. If expressive sketching, creative rebellion, and learning from one of Europe’s most influential illustrators sound like your thing — you’re in the right place.
We’ll be a small group of adventurous sketchers exploring Mexico City through ink, color, and storytelling — learning how to capture a place not just as it looks, but as it feels.
Recommended Experience
Some comfort with drawing on location is helpful but not required. If you’ve ever scribbled in a sketchbook and wished it had more life, this is your moment.
