Join designer maker Lauren Holloway on this day workshop to get to know your way around the sewing machine.
In this workshop Lauren will teach you the basic techniques of machine sewing; threading and setting up, different stitches, hemming and applique. You will then make a drawstring bag and a personalised applique cushion, learning how to join pieces of a simple pattern.
You will leave with a new found confidence in using a sewing machine and have a finished drawstring bag and cushion cover to take home. All materials and sewing machines are provided but if your have your own, you are welcome to bring it. You will have the skills to progress with your own sewing projects, skills to last a lifetime.

Please note that this workshop is for under 18s.
You are welcome to bring a lidded bottle of water with you but we kindly ask that you do not bring food into the studio.
Refreshments are available at our on-site café Blend until 4pm.

What you will need:
Sewing machines will be provided - you are welcome to bring your own sewing machine if you wish - please bring a standard foot
All fabric, interfacing, zippers and lining fabric will be provided, along with a variety of thread colours.
Please ensure students bring a packed lunch and a bottled drink. The lunchbreak will be supervised by the tutor and volunteer.
