Join ‘Clay Brown & the Trouble Round Town’ at El Grotto on Friday October 24th to celebrate the release of new single ‘No Place’. Featuring members Clay Brown (MAGE/King Proteus), Jess June (The Tommyhawks/Filth Wizard), Zoe Gol (Single Cell Sharks) & Michael Menna (Art of Dysfunction), the band will perform a live & electric headline set of original indie blues and folk rock, with support from ‘Lachy John & the Red Bellies’ & 'Moth Street Artists’.
The hook-filled indie-rock tune ‘No Place’, releasing Friday October 17th to streaming, was written about not being ready to invite someone new into your world, though staying optimistic that time may eventually heal our wounds and allow us to open up to someone again. Musically-influenced by The Cure & The Bends-era Radiohead, the track favors simplicity over spectacle with the arrangement allowing for a focus on lyrics & melody with catchy guitar hooks & an infectious chorus.
‘Clay Brown & the Trouble Round Town’ released their debut single ‘All My Friends (Atrophy)’ in April 2025, highlighting the importance of leaning on your friends to help you through the low & hard times. A perfect mix of nostalgia and modernity, the song resonated with audiences through its raw energy and heartfelt authenticity, reminiscent of artists like City & Colour, Theo Katzman, and Jackson Browne. With studio time booked for the remaining tracklist, the band are now poised to release their debut EP in early-2026.
Discounted Presale Tickets available only through Oztix, Door Sales at $15. Doors Open at 8:30PM.
