8th Annual Memorial Rock Painting

8 years ago my youngest son took his life, 18 days after his 18th birthday. As a tribute to the life he lived, the life he should have lived and a desire to spread hope to those who are struggling with mental illness, we have been leaving painted rocks around the world.

Each year we have gathered as a group to paint rocks and celebrate life and friendship and we invite you to join us.

I will provide paint supplies and some rocks but feel free to bring your own. I will have labels for the bottom of the rocks and a clear spray to seal them. As in the past, I ask that you paint a rock or two for me to distribute throughout the year and take one or two home for your own travels. If you are not part of the MichaelKRocksAK Facebook group, please join us and share photos of your rocks.

For the 6th year the O’Connor family has offered to host the painting party at their place. As in the past, they are inviting us to use their historic cabin in Chugiak.

Also, if you would like to bring a snack and or drink to share that would be wonderful.
