"de-sync syntax" seeks to deconstruct the audiovisual habit of 'synchrony.'
when the logic of electronic sound detaches from the bodily memory of street dance,
sound seeps into the gaps of the body; electronic waves collide with the dancer’s breath in real time.
on stage, they slip, drift, and reassemble into an unnamed syntax—
a writing of the present through the vibrations of energy and consciousness.

∅ alexis baskind (fr)
法國音樂家、音響工程師與電腦音樂製作人。
曾就讀於奧貝維利耶/庫爾訥夫區域國立音樂院,學習音響工程,同時進行科學與技術方面的研究,包括電機工程、訊號處理與應用數學。1999年,他加入法國聲學與音樂研究院(IRCAM),以「聲音場景空間描述的模型與方法」為題從事室內聲學研究,並於2003年獲得博士學位。
自此之後,他活躍於當代音樂、即興音樂、爵士與自由爵士等領域。他與眾多唱片廠牌、製作單位、作曲家、舞台導演及樂團合作,共同參與舞蹈、劇場與音樂的錄音與創作製作,並曾參與多個國際音樂節。
此外,他亦經常參與需開發特殊聲音處理、聲音設計及動作捕捉技術介面的藝術與技術計畫。他曾任教於柏林流行藝術大學,擔任聲音工程理論與實踐教授;並在德特莫爾德音樂學院及西班牙馬德里的索菲亞王后高等音樂學院擔任講師,同時也於多所音樂院校、大學與音樂製作訓練機構開設聲音工程與電腦音樂課程。

trained as a sound engineer at the conservatoire national de région d’aubervilliers/la courneuve, alexis has been pursued scientific and technical studies (electrical engineering, signal processing, applied mathematics), and in 1999 joined ircam, where he conducted research in room acoustics on the topic “models and methods of spatial description of sound scenes”, obtaining his doctorate in 2003.
he has been active since then in contemporary music, improvised music, jazz and free jazz. he collaborates with numerous labels, production structures, composers, stage directors, and ensembles, on studio productions and creations for dance, theater and music. he participates in several international festivals.
in parallel, he regularly collaborates on artistic and technical projects requiring the development of specific sound processing and design solutions, and interfacing with gesture capture technologies. he is former professor in theory and practice of sound engineering in the hochschule der populären künste fh (berlin) and lecturer at the hochschule für musik detmold as well as the escuela superior de música reina sofía (madrid, spain), and has been also regularly giving courses in sound engineering and computer music in music schools, universities and training institutes for music production.

以街舞身體為創作核⼼的編舞者與表演者,同時聚焦於美國⿊⼈⾳樂與舞蹈⽂化的研究,長期關注街舞⽣態中不同地域的舞蹈歷史脈絡、性別,以及身體政治等議題。擅長Locking、Popping、Animation、HipHop等街舞風格外,也曾涉獵佛拉明哥、舞踏與巴西柔術,身體訓練的歷程著重於跨⽂化、跨領域的探索,使相異的身體經驗得以跨界對話。多年來,他遊⾛於街舞⽂化與劇場語境之間,專注於發展⼀種有別於既有街舞語⾔的表演形式,探索街舞被觀看、被理解的另⼀種可能性;他的創作也試圖挑戰街舞⽣態中存在已久的性別框架,為長期由男性主導、強調陽剛氣質的街舞藝術注入更多元的樣貌。他持續將舞蹈視為⼀種批判性的實踐,⼀個讓身體、⽂化與權⼒交織和對話的場域,以此回應他對⽣命、社會現實的提問。
a choreographer and performer whose creative practice centers on the street dance body, yu-hsien focuses on the study of african american music and dance cultures. her work engages with the histories, gender dynamics, and politics of the body within diverse regional street dance contexts.
trained across styles such as locking, popping, animation, and hip hop, she has also explored flamenco, butoh, and brazilian jiu-jitsu. her movement practice emphasizes cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary exploration, allowing distinct bodily experiences to enter into dialogue.
for many years, she has moved between the worlds of street dance and contemporary theater, developing a performance language that departs from conventional street dance forms and questions how such movement can be seen and understood. her works challenge the long-standing gendered frameworks within the street dance community, bringing new dimensions to a form historically dominated by masculine aesthetics.
she continues to approach dance as a critical practice—a space where body, culture, and power intersect and converse—responding through movement to questions of life and social reality.

franki wals (b. 1989, córdoba, spain) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice encompasses sound, video, text and other means of expression. some of the main concerns approached through his work include experience, perception, environment and the myriad lines that crisscross between them, employing strategies such as disciplined listening, field recordings and electroacoustic improvisation to engage with them. when performing live, he typically uses a configuration consisting of laptop, no-input mixing board and various sound-making devices.

enjoys pushing the erhu to produce sounds that seem on the verge of breaking, and easily slips into a trance-like state on stage, almost akin to spirit possession. the director/owner of jiang shan yi gai suo (a.k.a. jiangshan art cafe).
